FORGETTING Untranslatably, unrepeatably, a certain media logic of recognition: a mixture of calculated stimulation and sudden fatigue: déjà vu is the mode of perception. -> MEDIA THEORY After years of casting about for intelligent ideas about the internet, the least stupid by far seems to be juxtaposition, the DJ View : do not be phobic, sample some techno-talk and microphilosophy... -> DESIGN AND PROGRESS? Some will find these pages old school. I have not been able to update everything. The tools for web design have evolved, and people get used to animated sites; I still like writing. For more visual stimulation, turn on the TV. -> GLOBALATINISATION While this site contains some German, Spanish and French, the bulk is English. There are no excuses for this monobrow... but there seemed to be good reasons for moving it to Britain and subsequently to the United States. -> GIFT ECONOMY We used to believe that the internet was the medium for free exchange. Not that we expected no kickbacks, but we did all of this for free.
